Stamford Convention 2026!

Last month, we participated in the annual Singapore American School x Stamford American International School Service Convention in Singapore. The day began with a presentation about what service means within the school and was followed by an inspiring talk by an SAIS parent who has volunteered in Africa with well-known wildlife filmmakers and conservationists Beverly and Dereck Joubert. Her reflections on commitment, growth, and creating sustainable change helped set a reflective and motivational tone for the rest of the day.
We the proceeded to participate in the club fair, where our club president, Aditya, and club officers, Sidd and Veer, represented Feeding Futures. With the help of our members, we redesigned our tri-fold board from last year to better represent our mission, initiatives and purpose. This went on for about an hour, where groups of people came to see what we have done within the past year. It was fulfilling to connect with students and educators, respond to their questions, and convey how our club aims to positively change our community over time.
In the afternoon, there were additional workshops workshops that focused on how service is provided throughout Singapore and how students can become engaged in service options. The overall experience of the convention was very inspiring and helped us remember why we are committed to service in the first place. We really want to participate next year to further spread our mission and motivate more people to volunteer for our cause, whether it be at Krsna’s Free Meals or directly through Akshaya Patra.
